Traditional polish Salad
I've called traditional polish salad but I must say that every family add their own secret ingredients. I think in my family home we keep it simple - and it always needs to be chopped into the smallest cubes possible. I know that many of polish people know that sentence: "You've chopped it too thick". Well it's brings a lot of good memories and I hope you will like the taste of it :)
Ingredients:
It's best to boil your vegetables while cooking stock - for example with chicken. They'll give a great flavor to your soup and you won't waste water they've been cooking in.
- 2 carrots
- parsnips
- half of celery
- 1 apple
- 2 potatoes
- 2 bigish sour gherkins (if you don't have those, you can use pickled ones)
- mayo
- salt, pepper
Chopped all veg into small cubes, mix together with mayo (do it gently, you don't wanna paste!).
That's it. Chill in the fridge - it's the best the next day.
A lot of people add peas or sweetcorn from tin, or even onion. that's up to your imagination. But I think it's the best kept simple.
Enjoy!
